Bratislava will charm you with its atmosphere, people, and the feeling that things here work naturally, without rushing, at their own pace. It is an ideal and surprisingly memorable place for Erasmus+. So be prepared: when you are packing up to leave after the course, you will definitely say to yourself that you could have used one more day in Bratislava.

A lively city centre

You will quickly discover that the historic center of Bratislava is lively, but does not feel crowded or artificial. There are plenty of cafés and pleasant establishments where you can enjoy a hot drink, galleries and museums, cultural venues and squares, concert clubs, and even a city beach in the summer. All these places invite you to meet up, chat, or enjoy a moment of silence if you need it. If you long for a piece of nature, you can relax in parks, by the river, or take a walk to the woods.

A city where everything is close by

Most of your historical and cultural explorations can be done on foot. However, you can also rent one of the yellow or pink bicycles or use public transport. There are stops at every turn and the lines are practically interconnected.

A city that quietly tells its story

Bratislava is different from larger metropolises at first glance. The historic center is complemented by more modern surrounding neighborhoods, and each stage the city has gone through in the past has left a significant mark here. Medieval towers alternate with functionalist buildings, and the architecture of the 20th century naturally recalls the socialist era, which also significantly shaped the face of the city. Together, they create a colorful, yet somehow harmonious whole.

Would you like to find out more about Bratislava?

In Bratislava, all you have to do is go outside, start walking, and let the city guide you.

It will reveal its beauty to you, no matter where you go.

Slow down, listen, and rethink how you teach

Let’s cooperate

Over the years, we have helped countless students in their efforts to master the language and have built a strong team of enthusiastic, professional teachers. Based on this experience, we now offer courses and training for teachers of all subjects – from primary and secondary schools, vocational education and training (VET), adult education to higher education.

Our approach is rooted in the principles of humanizing education, inspired by Mario Rinvolucri, with a focus on creativity, collaboration, and personal growth. Each course combines practical methodology with hands-on experience, allowing teachers to try out innovative strategies, exchange best practices with colleagues from across Europe, and reflect on their own teaching.

All programs are fully eligible for Erasmus+ funding, which facilitates participation, and are open to both groups and individuals. Through our involvement in Key Action 1 and Key Action 2 projects, we help teachers build international networks, discover new perspectives, and bring new inspiration back to their schools.

We believe that effective training should not only provide teachers with better preparation for teaching, but also greater motivation and confidence in their role as educators.

What we offer besides courses

Job shadowing

Job shadowing offers teachers and school staff the opportunity to experience everyday school life abroad by directly observing colleagues at work. It is an inspiring way to discover new approaches, share ideas, and gain new perspectives.

Adult students mobility

Adult students mobility under the Erasmus+ program gives adult students the opportunity to travel abroad, participate in courses or training, and gain valuable personal and professional experience.

Internship

We offer internships in marketing and education, which provide students with the opportunity to gain real work experience abroad. Through Erasmus+ mobility, they can develop their professional skills, improve their language skills, and directly apply their knowledge in practice.

Can I apply for the Erasmus+ program individually, or does my school have to apply?

You cannot apply for a KA1 Erasmus+ grant individually. The application must be submitted by an accredited school or educational organization. However, as a teacher, you can participate in the project if your school includes you as a participant in its application.

What if my school has never participated in Erasmus+ before?

That’s no problem at all. Many schools are applying for the first time. Your school will need to submit a project application (usually once a year) through the National Agency. Many national agencies also offer webinars, guides, or support for first-time applicants.

What does the funding cover – and will it be enough?

The Erasmus+ grant usually covers course fees, travel expenses, accommodation, and daily expenses. Funding is based on unit rates and may not always cover 100% of the costs of more luxurious options, but it is generally sufficient to participate without having to pay extra from your own pocket, especially with careful planning.

Can I choose any course at any institution, or are there recommended providers?

You can choose any course, but it must be relevant to your work and professional development. We strongly recommend choosing providers with Erasmus+ experience, ideally those listed on the European Platform for School Education platforms.

What documents do I need to prepare (e.g., Learning Agreement, Europass, Grant Agreement)?

Key documents include the Learning Agreement (which describes the course and learning outcomes), the Grant Agreement (signed between you and your school), and, where applicable, the Europass Mobility document. Your school coordinator or Erasmus+ contact person will usually help you prepare these documents.

Do I need to know English to participate? Do I need to be an English teacher? What level of English is required for the course?

You don’t need to be an English teacher to participate in our courses. Most Erasmus+ courses are conducted in English, so at least an intermediate level (B1–B2) is recommended. However, many providers are used to working with groups of different language levels and focus on practicality and comprehensibility. Some courses may also be available in other languages, especially if they are organized in cooperation with national partners.

The whole team at the Bridge were absolutely wonderful and they genuinely care about their students and teachers. Andrea Záhumenská, the course trainer, excelled in using her expertise and guidance to make the learning experience engaging. Along with Emma Wyatt and Klaudia Bednárová, they all provided valuable and eye-opening sessions!

I wanted to say how much I truly enjoyed the CLIL course last week. It was not only informative but also inspiring. The practical ideas, interactive activities, and the balance between theory and application were just perfect. I especially appreciated the clear examples of how to structure lessons that integrate content and language, as well as the supportive atmosphere throughout the training.
The course definitely gave me a fresh perspective and boosted my confidence in using the CLIL approach more systematically with my B1–B2 students. I’ve already started planning a lesson on fast fashion that ties in perfectly with what we explored!

What I liked most was the opportunity to visit the Little Carpathians. Seeing the hornbeam forest. It was wonderful!
The visit to protected natural sites with an ornithologist, bird watching, and watching the Danube, the second largest river in Europe, were interesting. I was fascinated by the visit to the border crossing where Slovakia, Austria, and Hungary bordered.
The teachers were also very knowledgeable and competent. And the teaching topics are relevant to me as a geography teacher and important for Europe.
Thank you Claudia for the theory in classroom management! Very useful!
