About course

The afternoon English for Higher Intermediate course offers challenging and inspiring topics that will take you out of your comfort zone and support your English language development. Topics may include global issues, social issues, technological advances, scientific discoveries, arts and culture, international relations, and many more. Such sophisticated topics will allow you to apply and improve your language skills while developing your critical thinking and analytical abilities. You will be able to be yourself in English, expressing yourself naturally and with full control over both content and form.

In addition to new topics, the course also focuses on improving language structures and grammar. We will cover the subtle nuances of the language and work on precise expression and correct pronunciation. At the same time, your vocabulary will be expanded to include technical terms, idioms, slang and informal expressions, making your English richer and more authentic. The course will guide you to make your language grammatically correct, stylistically varied and very close to a "native-like" level. All this in a small group of no more than 8 people in a comfortable environment in the heart of the Old Town, twice a week for 60 minutes.

Lecturers/trainers

Emma Wyatt

Emma is a friend we all wish we had. Chill, empathetic and deeply invested in others, with a brilliant sense of humour.

She has a master’s degree in literature from Queen Mary’s College, University of London, and a CELTA diploma from the International House London.

What he values the most about teaching is “getting to know many inspiring students and helping them get better at English”. She is talkative and enjoys meeting new people. At the same time she is also very structured and goal-oriented. Her students like her for her sense of humour and friendly nature.

Emma comes from the south west of England.

She enjoys reading, travelling, and visiting galleries and museums. Cooking and trying new recipes are her passions. However, you will not get her to go on a bike trip, as she can’t ride a bike. She will gladly go on a hike though.

Testimonials

For me, you are the best language school in Slovakia. I would actually prefer face to face classes, but then I would not have the opportunity to have sessions with Sam, who is a fantastic teacher. Think about having branches in other parts of Slovakia too. For example in Myjava or Senica districts, there is no language school of your quality, and adults as well as pupils at primary and secondary schools would need your services along their path of education.
