A city that quietly tells its story

By Klaudia Bednárová

Bratislava is different from larger metropolises at first glance. The historic center is complemented by more modern surrounding neighborhoods, and each stage the city has gone through in the past has left a significant mark here. Medieval towers alternate with functionalist buildings, and the architecture of the 20th century naturally recalls the socialist era, which also significantly shaped the face of the city. Together, they create a colorful, yet somehow harmonious whole.
