About course

In this afternoon online course for advanced learners (B2+/C1), we emphasize developing your authenticity and spontaneity in conversation. Improve your ability to express yourself without hesitation, making you more confident in conversational situations. Together we will work on improving your vocabulary so that you express yourself with grammatical accuracy and stylistic variety. The course will prepare you for more dynamic and sophisticated conversations.

In this high level language class we have discussions on a wide range of current topics from world events to your personal and professional interests. Together, we'll agree on topics to make them interesting and useful for everyone - allowing us to practice common colloquialisms to the best of our ability. In fact, we know from experience that conversational courses are effective when our brains are thinking fully about "how to say this" and not "what to say about this". We will simulate real-life situations, allowing you to apply and automate the language skills learned in practice. You will learn new vocabulary, phrases, idioms, and improve your ability to pick up details, different voice intonations, and subtle nuances in speech.

The Afternoon Online Conversational English for Higher Learners course is designed for students who are already comfortable in casual conversation but want to take their English further and improve their skills under the guidance of an experienced tutor. It is suitable for those who are interested in "native-like" language expression and a deeper understanding of the English language, its nuances and culture.

Michael Healey

Michael is naturally curious and enjoys travelling, discovering new cultures and meeting people from different backgrounds. In his free time, he enjoys reading, history, football and writing, and he likes spending time outdoors. He brings this curiosity into his lessons by encouraging students to talk about subjects that genuinely interest them and creating a relaxed atmosphere in which they feel comfortable using English.

Michael is a British English teacher with more than six years of experience teaching English as a foreign language. He has taught in Spain, Ireland, China, Thailand and the UK, working with young learners, teenagers and adults in both classroom and online settings. He holds a CELTA qualification and a BA (Hons) degree in English and Creative Writing.

He particularly enjoys working with adults and helping them build confidence in using English in real-life situations. He teaches general and conversational English as well as exam preparation, including IELTS. His lessons are adapted to the needs, interests and goals of each individual student.

For me, you are the best language school in Slovakia. I would actually prefer face to face classes, but then I would not have the opportunity to have sessions with Sam, who is a fantastic teacher. Think about having branches in other parts of Slovakia too. For example in Myjava or Senica districts, there is no language school of your quality, and adults as well as pupils at primary and secondary schools would need your services along their path of education.
