The Lunchtime Online General English Advanced (B2) course is for you if you feel quite comfortable in English but still make grammatical or stylistic mistakes, or sometimes you can’t express yourself accurately. You may need to speed up your writing or improve your comprehension. Join us to push all your previously acquired language skills up a notch. Find confidence and freedom in communicating in English.
The English course for advanced B2 students is in high demand and is therefore offered both online and in person, on different days and times. Every format aims to overcome your individual language weaknesses and develop all language skills. At B2 level, many students are already quite comfortable with spoken and written communication, can watch a film or podcast in English, and can handle discussion on topics close to their heart. However, they often lack confidence in expressing themselves, make grammatical mistakes, and can find longer conversations in English stressful. Writing an email can sometimes take longer due to uncertainty in the use of grammatical structures and tenses. Our General English course for B2 level is specifically designed to address these challenges.
The course will focus on improving your grammar, with an emphasis on correct use of tenses and more complex grammatical structures in a practical conversational setting to instill correct habits. Practice the speed and fluency of your English communication in a small group setting and with feedback from the tutor. In class, you'll enjoy a variety of practical exercises such as discussions, simulations of real situations, and work with authentic texts and audiovisual materials. You definitely won't get bored while your English becomes more fluent, richer, and more accurate.
We’ll also focus on improving your written communication skills so that you can write emails and other texts faster and with more confidence, alongside greatly increasing your capacity to watch and understand podcasts or videos in English for long periods of time without extreme effort, opening the way to further fluency in the language.
The course is designed for students who speak, listen, and write English at an intermediate level. However, they want to feel more confident using English in a variety of situations, to communicate correctly in both grammar and style, all without stress.
In 2020, we became the first language school in Slovakia to receive international accreditation from EAQUALS, and we remain the only one in the country. EAQUALS is a guarantor of quality in language education for schools operating in an international environment.
Ceri attended university in Britain several times where he studied various subjects including Business and Finance, Ancient History, and Project & Construction management. He later worked in the steel industry as a production manager for many years. However, before that he was a professional musician and published several albums and enjoyed many tours.
Ceri finds great pleasure in teaching English with us here at the Bridge where he has worked since March 2015. He teaches both groups and individuals. Ceri holds two ELT certificates, a TESOL certificate from Oxford house in Prague and also a TEFL certificate.
He loves the interaction with his students and the challenge of tailoring courses to the specific needs of students. After studying Business and working in different Business capacities, Ceri finds such experience useful when incorporating it into his Business English classes. Furthermore, Ceri really appreciates the need to motivate students, in order for students to build their confidence and give themselves the best chance of improving their English language skills.
For all our clients we provide services
For me, you are the best language school in Slovakia. I would actually prefer face to face classes, but then I would not have the opportunity to have sessions with Sam, who is a fantastic teacher. Think about having branches in other parts of Slovakia too. For example in Myjava or Senica districts, there is no language school of your quality, and adults as well as pupils at primary and secondary schools would need your services along their path of education.
