About course
This course is designed for those who have reached a high level of communicative English and who want, or have a need, to take things further. We will be exploring those areas that make English difficult to understand such as complex written structures, colloquial expressions, prefabricated language (or chunks as we prefer to call
them) and other areas of language that contribute to understanding, fluency, confidence and a ‘natural’ sound.
All the material used on the course will come from authentic sources which in this case means the printed press, radio broadcasts, interviews, TV and so on and there will be a related home study task for each week. The course is intended to be flexible and if we find ourselves immersed in an area of particular interest, we may decide to explore it further in lieu of other things.
