Bilingual education and CLIL are becoming increasingly common in schools worldwide. The need to communicate across cultures and help students grow into global citizens is driving schools toward interdisciplinary approaches that integrate content and language. But creating effective lessons in a second or third language — while also teaching science, art, or history — is no easy task. That’s why, in this 5-day course, we will explore practical tools for planning, creating, and delivering CLIL lessons tailored for primary learners. The course meets Erasmus+ quality standards.
This intensive 5-day course is designed for primary school teachers who want to gain practical tools for planning, creating, and delivering CLIL lessons that meet both language and subject objectives.
The programme is suitable for beginners eager to explore the basics of CLIL, as well as experienced teachers looking for fresh ideas and inspiration. It combines theory with hands-on practice and offers a variety of activities to help participants understand CLIL principles and apply them in real classroom contexts.
Throughout the course, we will explore key topics such as:
The basics of CLIL
Understanding learners and motivation
Language and scaffolding
LOTS and HOTS
Active learning
Inclusive approaches
Adapting materials
Assessment
CLIL methodology will be connected to the Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring lessons are accessible and inclusive while preparing learners for today’s complex world with essential 21st-century skills.
Participants will take part in practical demonstrations and exercises, discovering how to design CLIL lessons that are both engaging and meaningful, how to connect subject teaching with language development, and how to support all students in achieving curriculum goals.
By the end of the programme, participants will leave with a toolkit of strategies, ready-to-use activities, fresh inspiration, and a renewed sense of creativity. They will also receive a Certificate of Participation, a Europass Mobility document, or another Erasmus+ ready certification.
This course is designed for primary school teachers, subject teachers in bilingual programmes, and educators who want to integrate content and language in their classrooms. Whether you are new to CLIL and looking to build confidence, or an experienced teacher seeking fresh ideas, the course will equip you with practical strategies, engaging activities, and inspiration to make your lessons both meaningful and motivating.
