The Benefits of Extensive Reading

When was the last time your students picked up a book just for the joy of reading, rather than because they had to answer questions about the material they’d covered? Why and how does extensive reading influence students’ knowledge of English and other language skills? What are the other benefits of extensive reading? And what about resources? The goal of this workshop is to address all of these points, as well as to explore ideas for fun and creative activities that will encourage students to read without linking it to assessment.
