In cooperation with the Gallery of the City of Bratislava (GMB) we cordially invite you to the exhibition “Look, Pressburg!”. A guided tour will take place in Mirbach Palace on 25 May 2023 from 17:00 to 18:00 under the guidance of Vladislav Malast in English.
The exhibition presents a journey through historic Pressburg and presents its areas from different perspectives, in different media and at different times, from the first surviving views of Maximilian’s coronation in 1563 to the emergence and use of photography. The works capture the character and atmosphere of the city at different times, depicting panoramas of the city as well as partial views of squares, streets and important buildings.
An imaginary journey through Pressburg guides visitors not only through the city, but also through related historical events. This rich visual experience features a number of restored graphic works from the Collection of Drawings and Prints before 1900 of the Bratislava City Gallery, as well as little-known photographs from the collections of the Bratislava City Museum, the Slovak National Museum – Historical Museum, the Slovak National Archive and the Fine Arts Archive of the Slovak National Gallery.
