About course

An evening online conversation course for advanced students (B2+/C1) who need to brush up on their communication skills and don't have a lot of time. If you can't manage a twice-weekly schedule, 90 minutes once a week - conveniently via the ZOOM platform - will make sure you keep your English language skills up to scratch.

The course relies on inspiring TED Talk presentations to serve as a springboard for lively group conversation. Through interesting topics that reflect current events from different areas of our lives, you will learn to analyse, defend, or evaluate your own and other's opinions and attitudes. As a result you practice not only conversational skills, but also critical thinking, active listening, and cultivated debate.

Also be inspired by high-quality materials and information resources on each topic. In a small interactive group of up to 8 students, you will be able to enjoy a structured variety of activities - for example, role plays in addition to discussions and debates, so you'll never be bored. You can consult on your further language development individually with the tutor during the course. Your language level is already high, so tailored advice can be particularly useful.

Who is the course for

The course is suitable for students who have an advanced level of English somewhere in the B2/B2+ range and would like to maintain this level and brush up on their communication skills. The course has a frequency of 1x90min per week, so it is one of those courses that is better suited to keeping the language in shape rather than pushing it up a level. It is thus aimed at those who don't have a lot of time but still plan to stay in touch with English.

Max Reynolds

Max is from the UK and he´s been teaching English for over 10 years. He´s worked in France, Italy, Slovakia, and Belgium with all ages and levels. Max enjoys teaching and gets great satisfaction from seeing the progress of his students - watching their confidence build throughout the course of the lessons and seeing their speaking ability transition from simple communication to fully conversational. He also enjoys learning new languages – he can already speak French and Italian and so he´s decided to come to Slovakia with the intention of learning the language... he´s always up for a challenge! In his spare time Max loves playing the guitar and learning new instruments. It’s a great way to relax while simultaneously keeping the mind active – currently he´s teaching himself how to play the ukulele and the penny whistle.
