[:sk]We have prepared a summer camp for teachers that is designed to re-boot us/teachers and get us ready for the new school year. The camp will take place in Zaježová, Slovakia in August 6th – 13th, 2017.
You can expect thought-out programme including yoga, meditation, fresh vegetarian food, active workshops and practical evening activities. The ‘reboot’ camp is designed to fill you with energy and creative ideas so that you are ready to kick start the new school year with renewed enthusiasm and vigour.
An international team of professional teacher trainers, who will run the the camp programme guarantees a week worth taking part in.
Prof. Peter Medgyes has been an English teacher, teacher educator, materials writer and researcher (in his own words) ‘for the better part of his life’. He has written & edited 39 books, and about 180 papers. He was on the editorial advisory board of several journals of international reputation, including Language Teaching, English Language Teaching Journal and Language and Education. In addition, he has been a plenary/keynote speaker in over 45 countries. He has been awarded many honours, and served as Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary in Syria from 2005 to 2009.
Rakesh Bhanot started teaching English in Spain (1972), and since then he has been involved in various aspects of ELT (trainer, examiner, inspector, etc.) He is the founder Editor of Language Issues – the journal of NATECLA. He has co-edited several books and contributed to various educational publications, inc. The Times Higher Education Supplement, TES, EL Gazette, ELTJ. He has delivered workshops, seminars, conference papers, as well as keynote/plenary talks, in over 40 countries. He has been a trainer at several summer camps for teachers in Central Europe during the last 30 years.
Varinder, has worked in ELT for 26 years in all contexts from private language schools to Further and Higher Education, teaching students ranging in age from 6 – 80 years old. She is a teacher, teacher trainer, materials writer, and the Coordinator for the IATEFL IP&SEN SIG. She has been a DOS/Academic Manager since 2002, and is currently Academic Director at Bloomsbury International, London. She is also working on her MA TESOL.
Born in Poland and based in Greece, Margarita Kosior is a tertiary educator teaching Language Teaching Methodology at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. Margarita is also a passionate storyteller particularly interested in ELT for young and very young learners. She also designs teaching materials for all ages and levels. As an advocate for social justice, Margarita believes in spreading awareness of global issues through ELT and presents her insights and ideas on her blog: www.eltforabetterworld.blogspot.com
Margarita is a regular presenter at international ELT conferences and has written articles for journals, conference proceedings and newsletters. Her other ELT-related experience includes working as an examiner, course book proof-reader, and serving on the TESOL Macedonia-Thrace, Northern Greece Board as the Vice Chair and ebulletin Editor-in-Chief. As a mother of two bilingual children, Margarita is a strong supporter of bilingual and multilingual education. Outside the classroom, Margarita is an amateur photographer and dancer.
Dimitri refers to himself as a „learning agent“ who is passionate about technology and lifelong learning. He has given talks and run workshops on Educational Technology at numerous events in many European countries. At present, he is an Instructional Technologist at Anatolia High School and the American College of Thessaloniki, Greece. He is also the Advisor on Social Media and Learning Technologies at the American International Consortium of Academic Libraries (AMICAL). A regular EdTech writer for the TESOL Macedonia-Thrace Northern Greece quarterly magazine, Dimitri has co-authored several articles on using TED talks in ELT. He is a member of the Global Education Conference leadership team, and a regular Reviewer for EDUCAUSE.
